El Paso Import Co started off as a dream that became a reality 22 years ago by selling merchandise from the back of a pickup truck to stores in Santa Fe, NM. Today, it sells a wide variety of antiques, vintage, and reproductions to restaurant chains, designers, and people in the film media. For a company that was just starting, the ability to build good, strong relationships with clients was one of its main goals; its client base began by attending as many as 24 ethnographic shows annually throughout the country, which gave El Paso Import Co the tools for making and keeping fresh bonds with old and new customers. In the beginning the company focused its attention on Mexican antiques; it was precisely this passion and fascination for it that patterned El Paso Import's line of Mexican reproductions, which has allowed the company to grow impressively. The first retail store opened in Santa Fe, NM in 1987, over the following years the company has expanded out into 16 other locations throughout the United States, from Arizona and all over Texas. Mexican furnishings were the start-push for attracting clients to enter and experience the world of antiques, but since El Paso Import Co wanted to really bring to others a "WORLD of antiques", the owner traveled to Eastern Europe, India, and China, to include handpicked imports and have a unique and wide selection of furnishings from around the world.
