Elk River Treatment Programs for Troubled Teens includes: drug and alcohol addictions, substance abuse, defiance, anger, depression, and mental illness.
Elk River Treatment Program (ERTP) is an intense therapeutic and year-round accredited academic program for troubled teens ages 12 – 18 and grades 6 – 12. The program provides diagnostic, assessment, education and treatment services to youth that are struggling with behavior, mental illness and/or substance abuse issues. Unlike wilderness programs which often require residents to set up a new base camp each day, ERTP provides the indoor amenities to allow a multidisciplinary treatment team and support staff to evaluate, assess and develop a treatment plan to address the needs of each resident in the program. The residential setting provides our child, adolescent and forensic psychiatrist, along with the treatment team, to determine a clear diagnosis and begin discharge planning upon admission to ERTP. ERTP uses the residential setting equipped with a full gymnasium, commercial kitchen, large school, shower houses, cabins, laundry houses, and horse stables as a vehicle to move teens to an area of self-confidence and heightened sense of self. Our success is due to combined components of healing and recovery through daily therapy, physician-directed medication management, daily exercise and proper diet, and accredited academics. The goals of ERTP residents are supported by strong relationships with a highly trained, recruited and screened staff. ERTP residents attend individual, group and family therapy, work on academic course work year-round and participate in hands-on learning projects daily. Treatment Team We believe parents are an essential part of the ERTP Treatment Team. They work closely with staff to understand their child’s progress or setbacks while at ERTP, and receive weekly updates on their child’s progress. Each resident has an individualized treatment plan, developed by a Treatment Team including: Parents Supervisor Trained counselors Clinician Professional Referral Sources We address the needs of many adolescents.
