The organization s economic department represents the Indian Finance Ministry in the U.S. Embassy of India provides information on the investment climate in India, as well as economic relations between India and the U.S. Its political department maintains close contacts with the U.S. administration, think tanks, nongovernmental organizations and the Congress.
