Thompson Elementary is a Title I school that offers academic instruction to students in kindergarten through grade four. The school provides instruction in physical education and music. It offers a preschool program for children with disabilities. The school provides classes in math, English and Spanish. Thompson Elementary also offers special education, literacy, and gifted and talented programs. The school operates a student council that organizes campaigns to conserve electricity. In addition, it administers the English as a Second Language program. The school hosts the Y.M.C.A. after-school program for working parents. Thompson Elementary is a part of the Aldine Independent School District.
