Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, located in Coral Gables, Fla., is a garden of tropical plants. The garden is set up to conserve the world of tropical plants and provide greater knowledge and love for plants and gardening. It features documented botanical specimens that provide resources in science and education through horticultural displays. Its tropical fruit program involves the conservation, curation and distribution of superior tropical fruit from the Americas and Asia, such as the mango, jackfruit, lychee, longan, canistel, durian, mamey sapote, mangosteen, rambutan and sapodilla. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden also hosts the annual international mango festival. Additionally, it features a tropical rainforest, a two-acre outdoor exhibit of tropical rainforest plants from around the world, especially plants of the American tropics.
