Founded in 1972, Fairfax Family Practice has been one of the leading family practice residency programs in Virginia. It is a medical specialty that provides continuing and comprehensive health care services for individuals and families. Its services include treatment of acne, diabetes, erectile dysfunction, obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, mental health issues, and depression and anxiety. It also provides Pap smears tests, nail removal, sports medicine, family planning counseling, geriatric care, skin cancer evaluation. In partnership with the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Family Medicine the center provides graduate medical education to new practitioners.
