Family & Children's Service is a nonprofit organization that has been providing mental health counseling to children and families for more than 125 years. It offers services to people suffering from domestic abuse, prostitution, AIDS, behavior problems, as well as people who are elderly and chronically ill. It offers a wide range of programs, such as community building, family education, family strengths resources, leadership training, parenting support, school success, youth development, and violence prevention and intervention. It also offers a home health care program that includes housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, meal preparation, personal care and respite care for caregivers. It is affiliated with Child Welfare League of America, United Neighborhood Centers of America, MACC Alliance of Connected Communities and MACC CommonWealth.
