Founded in 1980, Family Hospice & Palliative Care is an independent, nonprofit, community-based organization that serves individuals with life-threatening llnesses in western Pennsylvania. The organization provides hospice care in homes, hospitals, and skilled nursing, inpatient and assisted living facilities. It is accredited by The Joint Commission. Family Hospice & Palliative Care also offers symptom management for nausea, breathlessness, agitation and anxiety. The organization provides art, music, pet, massage and therapeutic therapies. It offers bereavement counseling, as well as personal care for bathing, feeding and dressing. The organization has partnerships with the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, the Grove City Medical Center and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Family Hospice & Palliative Care organizes visits by experienced nurses and home health aides.
