Family Redirection Institute Inc. is licensed through the Department of Mental Health Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services. We are a private for profit entity in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Our agency purports to offer realistic alternatives to inappropriate behaviors caused by psychological and environmental factors. We utilize an empowerment approach to our ecological method of treatment. Our goal is to assist consumers with maximizing their internal resources to achieve positive outcomes.
Behavior modification techniques are focused to place greater emphasis on positive reinforcement. A staff of trained counselors, clinicians and paraprofessionals work in concert with consumers and their families to find positives in the most difficult situations as a modality to encourage appropriate behavior.
Family Redirection Institute Inc. was established in July 1998 to offer services that are client centered yet family focused. We are pleased that our agency has served over one thousand consumers and their families. The agency enjoys healthy working relationship with several agencies within the Hampton Roads area. Specifically, with the Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Western Tidewater (Suffolk, Franklin and Isle of Wight) Court Services Units, Department of Social Services, Public School system, Family Assessment Planning Teams and Community Services Boards.
