Iowa Lutheran Hospital Family Medicine Residency program, located in Des Moines, Iowa, was established in 1973. The program's purpose is to educate physicians who will provide continuing, comprehensive, personal care to patients and their families. It provides a full range of experiences for its residents through specialties, such as internal medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as electives that include high-risk obstetrics. The residency program is centered at Iowa Lutheran Hospital and is approved with the Iowa Methodist Medical Center and the Blank Children's Hospital. The program is also from its approved by the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
