The Five Branches Institute provides education in traditional Chinese medicine through classroom courses and clinical training. It offers classes in the areas of medical theory and diagnosis, acupuncture, herbology, traumatology, dietetics, neurology, gynecology, pediatrics, epidemiology, QiGong and Oriental medicine. The Five Branches Institute also provides certificate programs in the disciplines of Asian bodywork, Tuina massage, sports medicine, shiatsu and weight management. The institute has a library that offers a selection of more than 7,000 books and journals. It was founded in 1984 and also provides Title IV federal financial aid services. The Five Branches Institute maintains a campus in Santa Cruz, Calif.
