Established in 1980, Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that provides food to people at risk of hunger in over 30 counties throughout North Carolina. The organization has distributed over 32.6 million pounds of food through a network of more than 870 partner agencies. It offers a range of food and nonfood essentials for individuals and families. Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina has a staff of trained and certified financial assistants, programs managers, outreach coordinators and facility maintenance specialists. The center conducts Kids Caf , which is an after-school program that offers tutoring, nutrition education, mentoring and nutritious meals services to children at risk of hunger.
