The Food Bank of Central New York is a nonprofit organization that works to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education and advocacy. It is one of the largest food banks in the United States with more than 500 member programs in the counties of Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego and St. Lawrence in New York. Its member programs include soup kitchens, food pantries and emergency shelters, as well as child care agencies, and neighborhood and senior centers. The Food Bank of Central New York works in collaboration with businesses, private foundations and government entities. It is based in East Syracuse, N.Y.
