Forest City Residential West is a division of Forest City Enterprises. The parent company is a diversified real estate company that specializes in the acquisition, development, ownership and management of commercial and residential properties throughout the United States. In April 2004, the company was valued at more than $7 billion and was rated by Fortune magazine as the top publicly-traded real estate company. It is a New York Stock Exchange-listed real estate company (symbols FCEA and FCEB) and is headquartered in Cleveland. It was founded in 1921. The company maintains its Forest City Development facility in Los Angeles and also has locations in Colorado, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts and Washington D.C.
