Westwind Elementary School provides academic education to students in prekindergarten through grade five. It provides educational classes in a range of subjects, including English, math, reading, life skills, physical education and social studies. The school has a guidance counseling department that assists students with anger management, grief and loss, and academic, personal and family problems. Westwind Elementary School organizes various events that include family nights, fall festivals, Halloween carnivals and picture days. The school is a part of the Frenship Independent School District, which serves over 6,000 students in nine schools.
