George A. Pearson founded G&M Oil Company in 1969, after having been a dealer with a subsidiary of a major oil company for several years, with one gasoline service station in Seal Beach, Calif. The company was incorporated in California in 1987 with Pearson as the sole stockholder. It operates as an open dealer under which the company or its affiliates own or lease from third parties and then franchises with major oil companies for branding and supply. More than 95 percent of the stations are branded Chevron with the rest branded Shell, Valero or G&M Oil. G&M Oil Company is one of the largest Chevron dealers in the nation and has an annual throughput of approximately 300 million gallons. The stations are all self-service and contain convenience stores of varying sizes. G&M Oil Company maintains its corporate office and primary training center in Huntington Beach, Calif.
