Gill's Onions is a manufacturer of fresh onions. Its processing facility is a 95,000 square foot operation that includes 40,000 square feet of processing space. The plant operates five production lines with three peelers at each line. The plant contains a high tech food safety lab, energy saving refrigeration and air systems, completely wash down/no maintenance floors and an innovative lighting system. It produces yellow and red hybrid onions custom grown for Gills Onions by its sister company, Rio Farms. Its diversified farming operation has acreages throughout the state of California and Mexico. In the late 1800's Gill s great grandfather started the family's farming operation in Ventura County, Calif. and continues to be operated by the Gill family.
