Founded in 1997, the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District, also known as BID, is a private, nonprofit corporation that works to enhance the central business district in Washington, D.C. It publishes marketing materials, including retail and dining directories, holiday shopping guides, maps and brochures. BID works with law enforcement agencies, including the Metropolitan Police Department, as well as Metro Transit Police and Park Police on public safety-related issues. The corporation also organizes regular meetings to facilitate communication between property managers and business representatives in the Golden Triangle area s law enforcement agencies.
