Founded in 1885, Birmingham Barons is a double A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox Major League Association. Formerly known as Coal Barons and owned by the Logan family, the Barons have played in many southern leagues over the years. Headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., the company bought Suntory International in 1995. Many famous players have played for the team, such as Michael Jordan, Lorenzo Davis, Willie Mays, Carlton Molesworth and A.H Woodward. In coordination with community partners, Birmingham Barons offers ticket donation programs to various nonprofit organizations. The Barons team has won more than 12 Southern Association titles.
