Founded in 1905, The Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches offers a variety of community-based services and delivers specialty programs. It offers clinical pastoral education through various facilities that include Hope Street Shelter for Youth, St. Joseph s Home for Children, Exodus and Evergreen Residences, Mary Hall Shelter and St. Christopher s Place. The council serves several men and women in need of transitional housing and works with inmates and ex-offenders, as well as provides crisis care to children, teens and adults in shelters and other treatment facilities. The Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches operates through more than 25,000 volunteers, funded from over 250 corporations and foundations and its donation is sourced from nearly 6,500 individuals. It operates fundraising campaigns and food drives through thousands of congregations, corporations and schools. The council maintains an office in Minneapolis.
