Incorporated in 1968, Gulf of Maine Research Institute is a marine science center. Based in Portland, Maine, it organizes forums on a variety of topics for environmental organizations, fishermen, scientists and resource managers among others. The firm has partnership with University of Maine School of Marine Sciences, Maine Department of Marine Resources and the University of Maine School of Marine Sciences. Gulf of Maine Research Institute also has collaborations with Acadia National Park Service, Bedford Institution of Oceanography and East Carolina University.
