In 1982, Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects became the youngest firm to receive the American Institute of Architects highest honor, the Firm Award. Founded in 1968, Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects provides master planning, architectural, interior and product design services. Gwathmey Siegel has completed more than 300 projects for corporate, educational, cultural, health care, government and private clients throughout the United States and abroad. Charles Gwathmey and Robert Siegel are involved with the conceptual design and development process of projects, which are managed by associate architects who have been with the firm from 10 to 25 years. The associates supervise teams for each project, are responsible for selection and coordination of engineering and specialized consultants and act as a liaison between the firm and its clients. A substantial portion of the firm s work consists of projects in campus and urban centers and additions to historic buildings.
