Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch is a resort in Tucson, Ariz. Its history dates back to 1929 as a 34-acre plot of land. The building structure, originally owned by Helen Murphey and John Murphey, previously served as a school until Hacienda Del Sol opened as a guest ranch in 1948. It has been visited by personalities such as Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn and John Wayne. The Grill, constructed in 1997, is one of the most popular restaurants in Tucson. The menu includes produce grown on the ranch. Its wine list is one of the most extensive in Arizona. Hacienda Del Sol underwent a restoration and renovation project in 1999. It has 30 guest rooms and suites. No two rooms are the same, but each room is adorned with original artwork and custom-designed furniture. Hacienda Del Sol s guestroom building has adobe walls, original fireplaces and hand-painted tiles.
