Half-Cocked Academy is an Idaho Falls based marksmanship instruction and firearms safety school. Classes are kept small to allow for maximum student/instructor interaction during class instruction and live-fire exercises. Senior Marksmanship Instructor Chad and Christy Russell are NRA certified and have over 10 years in marksmanship and firearms safety instruction experience. Courses focus on rifle, pistol, and shotgun instruction and include instruction in proper firearms handling and safety, loading and unloading your firearm, breath control, trigger control. proper utilization of a sling for support, acquiring and engaging targets, reloading drills, "snap-in" drills; proper and supportive positions, and more. Classes are limited to 4-6 students at a time as this allows for extensive and personal attention while providing for plenty of Q&A sessions. All classes are by reservation and appointment only. Class time and length depends entirely upon what discipline is being taught and class size. Typical classes last 1-2 days.
