Founded in 1989, Harriet Tubman Elementary School provides learning experiences for students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. It offers academic education to more than 200 students. The school has a counseling department that assists in meeting the academic and emotional needs of students. It conducts classes in reading, economics, geography, history, civics, life science and math. Harriet Tubman Elementary School organizes a range of athletic activities that includes basketball and cheerleading. It also supports activities, such as music and art. The school administers the Talented and Gifted program, which assists in the fulfillment of the intellectual and creative needs of students. Its parent-teacher organization works for the overall development of the school. Harriet Tubman Elementary School operates a student council. It additionally publishes Tiger Tales, which is a newsletter that provides information related to school updates and events for parents and students. The school works in partnership with the Sparlin Health Center, Party City of Atlanta, Chevron Food Mart, and Pritchett and Hull. It is governed by the Fulton County School System.
