Haven of Rest Ministries is a nonprofit Christian social service organization that responds to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of underprivileged men, women and children. It offers a variety of services, such as food, shelter and clothing; recovery programs for men and women whose lives have been affected by drugs and alcohol; and counseling and assistance for homeless people who need help in obtaining social services. The organization also conducts annual community outreach events, including summer picnic, basketball camp for boys and girls in grades three through eight, happy birthday Jesus, Christmas party for neighborhood children, and distribution of bags filled with personal care items to low-income and homeless people. It is supported by churches, businesses, organizations and foundations. Haven of Rest Ministries is located in Akron, Ohio.
