Based in Baltimore, Health Sciences and Human Services Library is a medical library operated by the University of Maryland Medical Center. It provides its various collections of books and journals and services for the faculty, staff and students of the University of Maryland and University of Maryland Medical Center. The library also serves as the regional medical library for the Southeastern and Atlantic region in the National Library of Medicine s National Network of Libraries of Medicine. The library facility has been operational since 1998, and provides more than 850 seats, various group study rooms and over 125 individual study-carrels. The facility also has various microcomputer equipped classrooms and a satellite conferencing center. The library provides a variety of bound volumes of medical books, collection of electronic and print periodicals and various databases. In addition, Health Sciences and Human Services Library houses the Tower Caf and the library coffee lounge.
