The Henderson Police Department, established in 1953, is a state-accredited law enforcement agency that employs more than 390 full-time, sworn officers, volunteers and civilians. It undertakes cases related to sexual offense, domestic violence and drug abuse. The department responds to emergency calls related to accidents and other criminal matters. The Henderson Police Department operates a citizen police academy that provides programs and services for crime prevention in association with the residents. The department offers various criminal investigation and traffic law enforcement services. In addition, it provides bike patrol, gun registration, crime prevention and emergency readiness services. Located in Henderson, Nev., the Henderson Police Department undertakes several safety seat inspections and organizes numerous bike helmet programs.
