Hesse Elementary School, located in Savannah, Ga., is part of Chatham-Savannah County School District. It enrolls more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school provides a learning environment and a social climate that helps the students to grow intellectually, socially and emotionally in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development. The elementary instructional program in grades one through five addresses the curriculum areas of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, health and safety, music, art and physical education. Emphases are placed on an integrated language arts program, which includes reading, process writing, spelling and grammar, and a hands-on computational skills program in math. Hesse Elementary School offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including sports, such a softball, swimming and basketball.
