Home Run Inn is a pizza restaurant and frozen food manufacturer located in Chicago. It was founded in 1923 and named after a winning home run in a neighborhood baseball game shattered the front window of the new tavern. It became known for its pizza when a recipe was put together in 1947, which has remained since. In 1950, the company introduced frozen pizza to the Chicagoland market and has further expanded to include more restaurants and carryout locations. It opened a USDA manufacturing facility in 1987 and maintains its corporate office in Woodridge, Ill. Home Run Inn also has frozen products, such as Perrino s deep-dish pizza, six-inch microwavable pizzas and take n bake pizzas.
