Founded more than 35 years ago, Scott Machinery is a John Deere construction and forestry dealer in Utah, eastern Idaho and western Wyoming. Brent Scott started the business in 1968 with four people in an old converted service station at 1404 South Third West in Salt Lake City. The first year Scott machinery totaled $200,000 in business. The company has expanded to eight locations, 100 employees and more than $40 million of business each year. Its products include the Deere compact excavator. The zero tail swing helps the excavator to work in extremely light places. Many attachments and auxiliary hydraulics enhance the versatility of this powerful unit. Standard backfill blades are included with all three sizes. It also represents Bobcat and Ingersoll Rand Utility Equipment through its Intermountain Bobcat Division.
