The Dietz Memorial Company was founded in 1903 in Waco TX. Walter Dietz was the first Dietz to work for the company, initially called Gooch and Wells. Walter's goal was to serve the families of central Texas for their monument and memorialization needs. Walter's strong sense of community allowed the company to gain a reputation for service and quality that set Dietz Memorial apart from all others. Later, Walter's son Henry joined his father in the business and carried on the tradition of service to the community. Through additional store openings and acquisitions, Stasswender/Dietz Memorial currently operates 4 retail stores and a manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas- including Hopf Monument. Locally owned and operated, our company remains focused on what is important, excellence in service, quality and value!

We offer many types of memorials, which are are often called gravestones, headstones, tombstones, monuments, grave markers and cemetery markers. Our goal is to help families remember loved ones by working closely with them to create memorials that represent the uniqueness of each individual in a classic and dignified manner.
