Founded in 1977, the Hospice of the Valley is a nonprofit, community-based organization that offers a range of health care services. It is one of the largest, oldest hospice care providers in the United States. The locally owned organization serves patients in the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area. The Hospice of the Valley also provides pain management and emotional and spiritual support solutions. It serves more than 13,500 individuals on an annual basis. The organization is certified by Medicare and Medicaid. The Hospice of the Valley maintains various inpatient units and serves patients in group and nursing homes. In addition, it offers the MediCaring outreach program.
