Founded in 1971, Houston Community College is one of the largest higher-education institutions in the United States. Based in Houston, Texas, the college offers courses in various academic disciplines, including art studio, art history, communication, dance, drama, English, foreign languages, philosophy, health/physical education and music applied performance. It also offers an array of adult education, technical and distance education programs. Houston Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
