Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District, with its office in Denver, is one of the first park and recreation districts in the state of Colorado. Established in 1955, it serves more than 100,000 residents in an area of over 20 square miles. It offers various facilities, including Water World, one of the largest family water parks in the United States, a nationally acclaimed golf course at Hyland Hills, Ice Center at the Westminster Promenade, Adventure Golf, the Gymnastics Center and the Community Senior Center. In addition, Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District maintains more than 30 parks, over 25 sports fields, community centers and several sports complexes, including racquetball and tennis courts, outdoor swimming pools and batting cages.
