It advocates for gender equality policies and programs for women and girls. The organization offers financial assistance, health care and nutrition services. It provides information for the prevention and treatment of AIDS. The organization undertakes the Nutrition and Gender Initiative, which is a project to find strategies to reduce malnutrition and improve the nutritional status of women and adolescent girls. The International Center for Research is supported by grants from national and international agencies, foundations and corporations.
