The International Association of Chiefs of Police is one of the oldest nonprofit membership organizations of police executives throughout the world. It has more than 19,000 members in over 85 different countries. Its membership consists of the operating chief executives of international, federal, state and local agencies. The organization offers many programs that are designed to assist law enforcement executives to enhance their job performance. It additionally assists in training, executive searches, professional development, compensation studies and testing and policy programs. It organizes annual conferences to examine the state of the police industry through seminars, forums and technical workshops. Its international policing division is responsible of the international programs and activities of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. It is located in Alexandra, Va.
