Instructive Visiting Nurse Association, located in Richmond, Va., is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive health care services to people in their homes and communities. The agency also has a pediatric program that offers pediatric hospice, palliative care, and bereavement and support groups. It also offers in-home parenting skills instruction and care for HIV and AIDS infected and affected mothers and their children. Instructive Visiting Nurse Association was established in 1900 and serves residents in Richmond and surrounding areas. The agency was organized by several nurses volunteering their off-duty hours to provide home nursing care and instruction to the poor and sick.
