Jefferson Elementary School is an educational institution that serves more than 200 students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, English, Spanish, math, science, social studies, art, physical and character education, and instrumental and vocal music. The school also organizes a variety of enrichment activities and events. It features a health center, auditorium, gymnasium, playgrounds, art and music rooms and over 12 classrooms. Jefferson Elementary School has a parent-teacher association that supports students activities and raises funds for the development of the school. The school also maintains a library that stocks nearly 12,000 books, magazines and audiovisual materials. It is located in Pittsburgh, and is operated by the Mt. Lebanon School District. The district operates middle and high schools, as well as approximately five elementary campuses.
