Founded in 1978, the Jimmie DeFore Dance Center trains dancers for ballet companies, Broadway shows, cruise ships, as well as stage, screen and television performances. The center also choreographs, performs and produces various entertainment packages for groups, such as the American Diabetes Association, Pediatric Cancer Research and the OC Fair and Event Center. The Jimmie DeFore Dance Center offers classes in hip-hop, jazz and ballet dances. In addition, the center provides wedding choreography services to clients. It operates a studio, as well as various dance rooms that are available for rent. The Jimmie DeFore Dance Center maintains a presence in Costa Mesa, Calif.
