Established in 1978, John Hopkins Avenue Elementary School serves students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school s facility includes over 40 classrooms, a library media center, cafeteria, office space, computer laboratory, amphitheater, sports field, and art and music room. In addition, it has a guidance counselor s office, and speech therapy rooms. The school conducts several special programs, such as Big Brother Big Sister, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. It also organizes accelerated reader, after-school care, speech therapy and exceptional children education classes. Located in Jackson, Miss., John Hopkins Avenue Elementary School is operated by Jackson Public Schools, which operates more than 55 educational centers.
