Founded in 1931, Joslyn Art Museum serves as the center for visual arts in Omaha, Neb. The museum has collections of European, ancient, American and Asian arts. Its collections of American Indian art features historic and contemporary examples of painting, sculpture, drawings, prints and decorated objects by the native people of North America. It offers studio classes for individuals of all ages. Its Joslyn classes provide a studio experience using museum collections and exhibitions for art making. The museum offers classes in drawing, painting, pottery, printmaking and sculpture. Additionally, it has a shop, which offers a variety of books, jewelry, photographs, prints and posters. The museum s library has books, journals, databases and art reference collections. Joslyn Art Museum also organizes annual art trips to learn about exhibitions and museum collections.
