Operational since 1924, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is a community art school and museum. Based in Kalamazoo, Mich., the center provides an art school for kids and adults with training in painting and drawing, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, photography, children's art, glass fusing and fiber. Additionally, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts arranges for museum tours which showcase a variety of art displays for schools, preschools, high schools and adults. Its league, Kalamazoo Art League organizes lectures of artists and scholars, organizes book discussions and plans trips to see art in private collections, regional museums and galleries.
