Karis Wellness is founded on the belief that it is through relationship that healing comes. Each of us brings a unique story that has impacted our life in both positive and negative ways.
Each of us endures a personal struggle and we develop methods of coping. When our methods of coping with the world are not working, that is when therapy can support.
Things like the death of a loved one, relationship issues, life transitions, medical struggles, sexual abuse and struggles, depression, and anxiety can create feelings of hopelessness and isolation.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
Karis Wellness is a safe place to bring both hardship and strength in order to find restoration through relationship, have worked in the mental health field since 2008 in Western Washington. I have been privileged to collaborate in a variety of setting ranging from crisis intervention to one on one treatment.
The bulk of my career has been working with at-risk youth and families struggling with an array of issues; each with their own unique story to tell. What I have learned from collaborating with clients is that each of us has such a beautiful story I hold with the utmost respect.
For graduate school I acquired a Master's degree in Psychology Counseling at The Seattle School. During my time at The Seattle School I worked with a number of community services agencies. I have worked in a variety of setting from client 's homes, their communities as well as facilitating a snowboarding program through the agency for teen to be able to learn how to snowboard. I have also had the opportunity to work with adults in a one on one office setting. Each agency and client has taught and impacted who I am and my approach in therapy. My desire is to serve my clients by exploring what they hope and desire for themselves.
Other interest that I have acquired along my journey is a passion for culture and art. I attended Biola University where I received an undergraduate degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design. During that time I lived in Europe and was immersed in many different cultures, traditions and art forms which have impacted my personal love of culture.
