We are all the best experts on ourselves, but at times we need someone to help us find our own wisdom. As your therapist, I will help you identify your problems - and find individual solutions to those problems. When we grow up, all of us learn particular patterns of behaving and being with others, and sometimes those patterns are dysfunctional. If we understand our unhelpful patterns and why we learned them, we see that what worked for us earlier no longer does. Although what we learned in our early lives is deeply ingrained, we can choose to behave differently.
As we work together, I will help you to become more observant of yourself and your emotional states. We will identify the strengths you possess to help you solve your problems. As you tell me your story I will offer interpretations and perspective to help you see yourself more clearly.
I am a seasoned, mature therapist. I have particular expertise in helping people who have been abused or traumatized, who are depressed or anxious, who are grieving, who are dealing with infertility or who have been exploited or harmed by previous therapy. Although therapy may be painful, the benefits are great.
