Located in Denver, Kepner Middle School serves nearly 1,000 students in grades six through eight. It is a part of the Denver Public Schools. The school offers a wide curriculum of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, social studies and physical education. It organizes several sports activities that include football, baseball, basketball and cheerleading. Additionally, the school offers a variety of co-curricular activities for its students, such as math quiz, science simulators, nettrekker search and infinite campus. Kepner Middle School also offers the secondary literacy program that supports reading and writing development of students. The program consists of two initiatives, the studio course and the secondary teaching and learning project. The studio course is a nearly 90-minute block that gives students instruction and practice in reading, writing and critical thinking. The teaching and learning project is a three-year project that aims to accelerate student achievement.
