Established in 1993 by the Kern County Board of Supervisors in California, Kern Health Systems is a nonprofit organization that works for the benefit of general public. It maintains a network of more than 500 health care providers and provides information related to health education programs, information systems, and cultural and bilingual capabilities. The organization works in association with KHS Group Health Plan for the management and administration of the Healthy Families Program. Kern Health Systems serves the under-served and uninsured families in the Kern and Los Angeles counties in California with a range of medical care services. It additionally conducts health education classes and disease prevention awareness campaigns for the general public.
