With one of its locations in Dayton, Ohio, the Kettering Foundation works on strategies to strengthen democracy. The foundation provides online materials for reading that includes books and periodicals. It has been in operation since 1927 and also conducts research work in areas of education, urban affairs, science, technology and international relations. The foundation supports public awareness programs on a variety of health care topics. It employs a staff of research officers, program associates and other support personnel. The foundation organizes workshops introduce international participants to the concept of deliberative democracy. In addition, the Kettering Foundation partners with International Institute for Sustained Dialogue and National Issues Forums Institute.
