Krigel & Krigel, P.C., was established in 1979 by attorneys Erlene and Sandy Krigel. The firm practices primarily in the areas of adoption law, assisted reproductive technology law, bankruptcy, business law, civil litigation, computer law, estate planning, family law, landlord/tenant law, personal injury, and real estate. Our firm consists of eleven attorneys and a support staff that includes a paralegal, a legal assistant, an office manager/bookkeeper, an assistant bookkeeper, four legal secretaries, a receptionist, and a messenger. Our attorneys practice primarily in the Circuit Courts in Jackson, Clay, Platte, and Cass Counties in Missouri as well as the Missouri appellate courts. On the Kansas side, we practice primarily in the District Courts of Johnson, Wyandotte, Douglas, and Leavenworth Counties, as well as the Kansas Court of Appeals and the Kansas Supreme Court. We also regularly practice in the Federal District Courts in Missouri and Kansas. Our managing partners are Erlene and Sanford Krigel. Erlene Krigel was the first woman appointed as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy trustee in the Western District of Missouri. She is regularly appointed to approximately 500 bankruptcy cases per year. Sanford Krigel has an active adoption practice and has been involved in many high-profile contested adoption cases in the Kansas City metropolitan area. He is one of the 2004 Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute's Angels in Adoption award recipients.
