Established in 1973, La Plata County Humane Society provides animal shelter and animal protection services. Located in Durango, Colo., it is involved in providing shelter and finding homes for unwanted/homeless animals, investigating animal cruelty complaints, enforcing city/county animal ordinances and dealing with animal nuisance complaints.
